This
programme is specifically targeted at the strong intermediate skier, with minimal off-piste experience. DON’T over-rate
your skiing ability, but don’t underrate your self either! The reality is that everyone will be at slightly different
levels according to our criteria below and we will accommodate this.
As
a minimum, you should meet the following criteria related to technique, fitness and
mental attitude. We will discuss your skiing experience with you BEFORE we take a deposit payment.
Technique:
You
ski steadily and in control on harder red runs. You can make long descents on piste, linking turns all the way, without stopping
to rest a lot. You have a reasonably tidy parallel skiing style but occasionally you still have “off” days. You
might have done some off-piste skiing, even if you’ve just been sniffing out the untracked snow at the side of the piste.
Sure you fall down, but you don’t have a complete ‘mare when your skis disappear from view! You can “get
down” any pisted slope, even if that means taking greater care on steeper, icy slopes. You ski better than your usual
ski-holiday mates but you know deep down inside you there’s an expert skier ready to break out!
Fitness
You
are (or will be!) ready to ski the full day for six days. Your leg, arm and back muscles are strong and you’re height
to weight ratio is in proportion.
Mental Attitude
You
will be a very keen skier and mountain lover. You might have done some professionally guided skiing where you
were happy to follow and really go for it but you really hanker for the independence,
skills and knowledge to follow the off piste guidebooks without a guide in the company of similarly skilled skiers. You
absolutely ADORE skiing!!
YOU
DO NOT NEED TO HAVE ANY CLIMBING OR MOUNTAINEERING EXPERIENCE.
