There are 5 aims to an All Terrain Ski holiday:
Polishing your piste skiing – it is vital to be a relaxed, technically proficient piste skier in order to progress to off-piste skiing so
we’ll spend time on this during the week.
Advancing your off-piste skiing – the back country offers un-pisted snow of varying consistency. You’ll learn expert techniques on how
to ski crud, fluffy powder or wind pack, depending on prevailing conditions. These skills open up the whole mountain for your
skiing pleasure!
Introduction to mountain ski-touring: mountain touring equipment that allows your heals to articulate so you can climb UP
and this opens up the real back country to those willing to put in the effort to climb up before skiing down. We normally
aim to spend 2 days on touring equipment including a night in a mountain refuge, which is usually the highlight of the
week for most people. You’ll learn about route selection and skinning techniques.
Mountain skills – complete your all terrain skiing skill set with an introduction to mountain safety including:
- avalanche dangers & avalanche transceiver searching
- glacier skiing and crevasse rescue
- moving securely on steep ground
- emergency first aid
Personal Psychology – we’ll help you understand your motivational profile and will help you reduce any mental barriers
to progressing.
